Been working very hard trying to make gluten free sourdough. I have yet to successfully accomplish it but I’m so stubborn I’ll figure it out one day 🤪

Prepping for this season on sickness and planning to add echinacea to my elderberry syrup this year! I love growing echinacea it’s so beautiful, it smells like heaven, the pollinators love it and it’s so beneficial!!!

My daughter saw this yesterday!!! Thank God she was paying attention and let me know 🥰 it’s apparently a brown widow, they’re just as poisonous however they’re usually less aggressive and don’t inject as much venom as black widows. However I can’t have this lady in our garden so she’s out. I don’t kill spiders unless I need to but she has to go. 🕸️🕷️

Stumbled upon a garden blessing! These wasp larvae are killing a problematic garden pest! The tomato horn worm! Pretty cool to find they stopped these guys from destroying my tomato and pepper plants! So I’ll let them stay!

Things are still a total mess but starting to take shape! Beds will be built sooner or later as we juggle baseball season and to do lists but we’re living every minute! Also planted up my front yard with wild flowers in place of grass! Fingers crossed it ends up as magical as I’m imagining. 🙏🏼

I haven’t posted much because since we closed on the farmhouse we’ve only recently started all this work! First job was to take down some big trees planted too close to the house and frankly in the way! We kept all the beautiful mulch they created and are using it all over the place to build up our sandy soil. Planted mosquito repelling plants for beauty and purpose! A lot of herbs are great for repelling mosquitos! I planted lemongrass, rosemary, basil, salvia (sage), onion chives, marigolds, and lemon thyme. I also chose to interplant some additional fun things like strawberries and pineapple sage! Oh, and I put chicken wire over the dirt to keep my chickies from digging up all these plants before they can root in happily. Chickens are wonderful but they will destroy your garden in a heartbeat! #salvia #lemongrass #basil #onionchives #rosemary #lemonthyme

Did a thing today! For those of who who may not know, we recently moved back to FL and sold our beautifully established garden in TN! We’ve been renovating our old house and moving in with zero time to play in the dirt. It’s been really tough but we’re making good progress so I decided to give myself a birthday gift and get a small herb garden started! I’ve also bought some citrus trees and have huge plans for the growing spaces around our home! Yes I call them growing spaces because if I have anything to do with it there will be little to no grass growing in my yard! Plant it all I say!
